Big Sur dock is too responsive. How do I slow it down?

Since Big Sur, my dock is unhiding too quickly (although everything else since updating is running too slowly).

I need a bit of delay when I am using the mouse on a bottom scrollbar. Otherwise, I keep accidentally dragging my icons around in my dock. Any way to slow down or delay the unhiding of my dock?
What seems to be happening is, it pulls the dock up when the cursor is within about 10 pixels from the bottom of the screen (or whichever edge you choose for your dock to reside). This is terribly irritating -- impossible to deal with, really, as that is exactly where the open application's bottom scroll bars are. Surely this can be adjusted somehow, please!
I'm having the same issue, dock pops up too soon, when curser is still about 10px away. Makes nearly impossible to work with After Effects and Premiere.... if there was a way to either delay or to diminish reactive proximity... there was a command for terminal...
