Hi, so for the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed a glitch with my casting abilities through ANY of my apps. I keep granting permission for apps to allow them to use casting feature by accessing my local network but it doesn’t seem like my iPhone is registering the permission because despite these apps being allowed to access (green box has been checked) it’s still won’t allow me to cast and keeps asking for permission to local network.

I have downloaded the latest firmware 3 days ago and the problem persists.

I have deleted and reinstalled all the apps I want to use casting for (factory reset my chromecast and deleted and reinstalled Disney +, Netflix, Primevideo, TV cast, YouTube, etc) and all of them still keep prompting and asking for permission to access local network despite the fact I granted already.

I have reset all locations and privacy setting and the problem still persists.

I have rebooted my phone and the problem still persists.

I can not even find online if this has happened to anyone else but I’m incredibly frustrated now.

Any suggestions?

I have the iPhone XS Max 250gb on firmware on iOS 14 version 3.02.02.

I have this exact same issue! My Netflix will not show on my chrome cast with my iPhone. But it works on the ipad. It says I require permission. But it has all the permission granted for Netflix and other platforms. Even the privacy setting and local network.

I’m having the exact same issue and to be frank it’s utterly infuriating there’s zero guidance o line I’ve reset my network settings and privacy settings it just won’t save the enablement of local network access making my iPhone pro utterly useless... this is extremely disappointing from Apple I rely heavily on my iPhone for work and right now it’s useless for anything presentation related. Even on a personal leve it fails. I can’t cast YouTube, Google slides, Google, oculus, Facebook, Netflix, Amazon doesn’t matter what I do o get the same annoying “casting requires local network access” I click it and it shows it’s enabled but if I hard quit settings and open again the local network access is suddenly disabled. Horrendous feature and one that will cause me to get rid of the iPhone if not fixed. I waited patiently for months for a fix and I hoped the recent update would sort it but low and behold it hasn’t...

turn your data off and connect to the same wifi network as the device you’re casting to.
