Problem connecting to SMB on Big Sur 11.1

Big Sur version 11.1 seems to have problems connecting to a server via VPN.

Im using the Connect to Server option in the Go menu to connect but it just refuses to connect.

I've seen multiple threads about this topic and found the terminal command

Code Block sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/smbfs.kext

sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/smbfs.kext

This did not fix the issue.
