Unintended pixel border around the stickers

Hi,

I have one sticker pack online and I'm working on my second now. Few days ago I updated my iOS to iOS 10.1.1. Since then, my stickers (online and offline/iPad and iPhone) have a gray thin pixel border (picture link below). The size of the animaiton is correct. Default backgound is white (After Effects) and then set to transparent. I always make a white 3 pixel border around my animation. I changed the size of my white border but this did not make any difference. The final Gif-File is correct.

If I tab on one sticker in iMessage, to see the big version of the sticker, everything is ok. Only the small ones (preview and in the message) have the gray border.

Does anybody have a solution or explanation for this problem? I'm courious 😉!

I'm seeing the same problem with my message stickers app. The app hasn't changed since launch (in September) but just recently the stickers started to look bad. I assume it was the iOS 10.1.1 update as you noted.

The problem seems to show up in semi-transparent pixels. Fully transparent pixels render fine but semi-transparent pixel seem to be composited with a black background rather than the white background in the Messages app, which gives a gray hue to those pixels.

I wonder if this is happening across all message stickers or if there is something common to the way both of us generate our image files. It sounds like you're using GIF, I'm using APNG, so perhaps not.

Update: I just installed iOS 10.2 Beta 3 and the problem doesn't exist there. I hope that means it's fixed there. It could also be that 10.1.1 hasn't been merged into that beta branch yet.
