We have an app which controls our embedded devices over Wifi. We've recently had to do some changes to enable the multicast permissions on v14.4 which all seems to work with no problems on all of our test platforms.
However, we have a customer in China who is unable to connect to wifi using our app on an 11" Wifi+4G iPad Pro 2. We're a bit stuck as to why this is, but we have noticed that in Settings->WLAN there's a "Apps using WLAN & cellular" page and our app isn't listed there so we can't enable or disable Wifi access. The question is why? I can't find this setting documented anywhere (although it seems to be China specific?). So, what permission/property determines whether an app is listed on this page, and therefore allows access to wifi?
