I recently attempted to upgrade from Catalina to Big Sur. Unfortunately I decided to use an external HD to process this, when Big Sur created the install partition it converted the data one the hardrive (800 GB) to a different partition in Apfs format. I can no longer access the files, but when looking at the volume on the HD I can still see the 800 gigs as being used on the HD. Is there anything I can do to convert the HD back to its previous state or convert the Apfs file back to the original file. Thanks
