We are having trouble implementing TV provider authentication, access, and control via the iOS operating system.
Specifically, our app ranks live sports broadcasts using personalized excitement metrics so each user can tune into what they would find the most interesting to watch. Essentially, it extends and personalizes the NFL RedZone concept to all sports.
Our users subscribe to a cable/satellite TV provider (e.g., Verizon Fios and DirecTV) or a streaming TV provider (e.g., fuboTV, Youtube TV, Hulu).
For cable/satellite TV subscribers, we want to authenticate the user with their account via iOS to determine the channels/networks available under the user's subscription package.
We want to authenticate with the user's account for streaming TV subscribers to include a streaming button on each of our game tiles. For example, assume an NBA game that ESPN is broadcasting and the user has a fuboTV subscription. Our app includes a fuboTV streaming button, but it is only directing the user to a signup screen. We want the streaming button to allow the user to open the fuboTV app directly to the game on either Apple TV or the user's phone.
