The security cli tool, doesn't allow to trust certificates even with sudo without a pop up window appearing in Big Sur

Is there a way to make an API call maybe as part of the app?
If I am understand this correctly, no, the popup window is something that the user will need to enter their password for when changing the trust settings for a certificate installed in the keychain. This was mentioned in the release notes here.
