NTP time server failed

The NTP time server failed to access, please help to check. The test NTP uses: time1.apple.com, time2.apple.com, time3.apple.com ... This issue prevented the deployment of our application. We hope to fix the NTP issue as soon as possible. Thank you.

This happens when my application device talking to Apple’s NTP servers directly.

I’m not sure what “application device” means but I’m going to assume you mean “accessory”, that is, a hardware product that’s running its own firmware.

Did you receive advice from Apple to use our NTP servers for your accessory?

The reason I ask is that, AFAIK, Apple’s NTP servers are their for our own devices and we don’t document them as being available for third-party accessory developers. However, I’m not super clued in to Apple’s accessory development programs, so I’m willing to be contradicted here.

What do you mean by this? That your app is talking to Apple’s NTP servers directly? Or that you can’t install your app on an Apple device because the system software is unable to communicate with Apple’s NTP servers?

Thanks for your reply,Eskimo.I know that,Apple’s NTP servers are yours for yours own devices.

Unfortunately, our iot devices use time1.apple.com as the only one ntp server.

Even more, there are more than ten thousand iot devices has been sell away.We facing ten millon RMB loss.

This is a fatal error by our engineer, but may we has any solution for this.

Sincerely look forward to your reply ,thanks.

I’m not able to escalate this for you [1]. I think your best course of action here, at least in the short term, is to file a bug against the servers in question, making sure to include information about the impact of this issue.

Please post your bug number, just for the record.

As to the long term, update your accessory to use your own NTP infrastructure. That is, an NTP server that you run or for which you have a contract in place.

[1] Because our NTP servers are not considered API and thus fall outside of my organisation’s remit.

Thanks for your reply,Eskimo.I had commit a bug in FeedBack, the bug number as follow:

FB9226047 (time1.apple.com failed to access)
