Apple Pencil has lost most control of function after install of iPadOS 15 developer beta

My Apple Pencil 2 is working properly on my 2018 iPad Pro 11”, but it only started after upgrading to iPadOS 15 beta (developer edition). My pencil will scroll, select, and draw only outside of the Notes app and the new Quick Notes feature. There is zero control of the pencil beyond that; such as using the Scribble function, erasing, changing colors, highlighter or marker functions, lasso or ruler, etc. I can bring up the pencil tool pallet “occasionally”, but not each time that I tap it; the pencil only registers black line handwriting or drawing. I can record the screen with my experience if that helps someone in their efforts to assist someone who uses the iPad Pro daily as my only computer device.

I run my business and household stuff through the iPad, I know that the brightest idea but I have already done this and never experienced any issues before that I could not resolve. I personally have been using iPads since the Air 2 and rely heavily on the upgraded versions of iCloud and a secondary backup that is performed weekly for dependable business record keeping.

If you find a resolution, I’d love to hear details; I do use these functions daily and losing them is tough after having them for a while; particularly the Scribble that is used multiple times each day as I am not always seated when using my tablet. I also can only create one of the new “Quick Notes”, but it won’t allow for any handwritten entries, etc. I have to open the quick note in the general Notes app and go from there; although the lack of a fully functioning tool pallet is also causing problems in the Notes app as well with no tool selections being possible.

Thanks so much!

Matthew

I am also having the same exact issue and want to ask if you’ve received any updates on this issue. Hope all is well otherwise!
