Access Private API for Carriers

Hi !

I work in a company working on QoE / QoS for cellular and WiFi networks, for carriers and country regulators.

Is there a way to "legally" access to private APIs ? We'd like an access to the current connected cell information (Cell ID, LAC/TAC, RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ, …). For WiFi, an access to 802.11 beacon frames, or scan results to detect overlapping channels, and so many other use cases.

Thanks.

Is there a way to "legally" access [this information]?

Well, I’m not a lawyer, and thus can’t answer legal questions, but I can say that:

  • The iOS SDK has no APIs for accessing this information.

  • I can’t discuss any facilities beyond those provided in the iOS SDK (and such facilities are not an appropriate topic of discussion here on DevForums).

  • If you’re working on behalf of a specific carrier, you can have that carrier raise this issue with their contact at Apple.
