State of HomeKit & Keychain Bugs

I hate to bring up a topic that has been posted so many times already, but as we've seen no real solutions, I want to keep this discussion going.

There's a serious bug in iCloud Keychain related to HomeKit. Some invisible misconfiguration with Keychain renders HomeKit (Home.app and related features of the framework) unusable for some iCloud accounts.

Developers have seen this manifest in the form of the "Error 77" or "iCloud data sync in progress" errors. Users simply get an unusable Home.app. As it stands, there are developers unable to work with HomeKit, and users unable to use it.

I've filed a bug report, rdar://27928426. For anyone else still having this problem, please file a duplicate report.

And as always, let us know about any workarounds you've found.

I've got the exact same issue as you (I assume). Submitted a bug report last week referencing yours, and I submitted relevant sysdiagnose logs yesterday. Hopefully it will help.

I've tried all sorts of workarounds (shy of a full restore). The "log out of everything, log into a fresh iCloud account, open Home.app, then log back into buggy account, Home.app can be launched fine" workaround worked, I could set up my home, and for a day or two I was happily using Siri to control my Hue lights. But the Loading Accessories and Scenes screen soon returned and HomeKit is back to being completely useless for me.

I got this to resolve by using an iOS9 device, there under privacy->Homekit-> reset configuration.

This does the quick reset. give it 2 mins and then it becomes fine..
