I mostly code directly on the MacBook Pro 15" screen (full res.), as I like to move around (sitting on a Stressless recliner, or even on a café). This is nice for focus, but the "small" screen makes it harder to get the overview in large classes sometimes. The Storyboard is finally editable in all zoom-ranges, which makes that much better in this sense. I would love to be able to easily zoom in/out of the code editor as well; to go between a large (baraly readable) overview, to focus on piece of code with sharp and comfortable text size.
Wouldn't pinch-zooming the Editor's text size be a great feature?
It may not be what you are looking for, but code folding may help in your situation.
Thanks, yes, folding is indeed a great function in this sense too — but with pinch-zoom I'm rather looking for a way to see a complete overview of the "composition" of the all the code at once, and also to save the eyes a bit by zooming in on e.g. function that I'm working on. I hope others will see some benefit from this too...
Zoom is already possible via macOS. Have you looked at screen zoom...System Prefs/Accessibility/General/Zoom?
