Hello, for some reason, a specific iMessage chat just disappeared. The whole thing gone! I use MAC, ipad and 2 iphones in iCloud.
The chat was gone on my desktop and my iphone 8 but was still live on my ipad and an older iphone 4 though all are connected to the cloud.
I have all the data saved on TimeMachine
So I tried to recover the chat.db from an earlier date on my Time Machine and replaced the whole message folder in Library (maybe bad idea!?) after I had signed out of the app. But that did not work.
Tried to reinstall the original message folder (i had copied it just in case...) but MAC does not really recognize it any more.
When I reopened the app and signed in, every time I clicked on a chat, it disappeared before my eyes. So i closed the app, signed out and in again and now, on my desktop all chats had gone. Trying to download the messages from iCloud is not working.
I puttee two devices where all of my messages chats are still live, on airplane mode and closed Wifi so it does not access iCloud.
Anyone a guess, how I can restore my iMessage database on my desktop so I can open it it on my desktop and not see everything disappear on all remaining devices. Thanks Chris
