My 2014 MacBook is completely up to date, but when I go to download Monterey from the App Store, I get a pop-up saying "The requested version of macOS is not available."
In the App Store, it says it is compatible with my laptop.
What can I do here?

Yes me too, and on a mid-2015 iMac as well. The App Store suggests both my devices are supported whereas the website listing supported versions says it's not.
In summary I'd say bad coding on the App Store and sadly not supported
