Ethernet Interface Drops On ESD Testing

I have an iPad Mini connected to an MFI certified ethernet dongle linked to my local network. This works great, it leases an IP address and functions well.

My issue is that once I shock (simulating ESD) the dongle, the ip address drops off the interface and becomes a self assigned 169.x.x.x. Even worse, the iPad won't recover unless disconnected and reconnected to the dongle. Is there anyway to mimic this disconnection and reconnection with swift code?

On an iPad? No. The iOS SDK does not have APIs for manipulating the low-level state of the networking stack.

Are you working for, or on behalf of, the company making this accessory?
