Synology NAS running DSM 6 and DSM 7 supports ftp, smb2, smb3 with encryption, afp, nfs, and WebDAV connections for file services.

Technically also supports transferring files via SMTP mail, if you're running a mail server on the NAS.

How you upload a PDF depends on how the NAS is connected.

PDFs on the NAS are usually uploaded and stored as files, and can optionally be viewed by the available PDF Viewer extension.
