Unable to prepare iPhone for development

When building my project using Xcode, it said "Unable to prepare iPhone for development. Please check the connection to the device, and review all errors in the Devices and Simulators window." And in the Devices and Simulators window, it said "Failed to prepare device for development. If you are certain that Xcode supports development on this device, try disconnecting and reconnecting the device."

I am using Xcode 13.1 and iOS 15.3 on an iPhone 13 Pro.

This problem used to happen very often to me (3 times a day usually). In the past, after I restarted the iPhone, it would be fine. But this time, even after I restarted my iPhone multiple times, it still didn't work. This problem has been lasting for a week. Could anyone help me to fix it?

I upgraded Xcode to 13.2.1 and problem solved.

Here IOS 15.4, Xcode 13.2.1 and I still get this error over and over again.

It started when I upgraded Iphone's 12 Pro Max to IOS to 15.4.

Already restarted both, MacBook and iPhone 12 Pro Max several times e nothing seems to get it to work.

Mac Book has BigSur 11.6.5

I have another iPhone 7 with 15.3.1 where the error does not happen.

Any help?

  • I think Xcode 13.2 is not compatible with iOS 15.4. Try upgrade Xcode to 13.3

  • Hello, any solution to the problem or a workaround?

I'm also suffering from this update, my MacBook air 2014 is updated with the latest version of BigSur 11.6.5 being incompatible with the updates of Xcode 13.3.

Problem seems to occur after update to ios 15.4 (iphone 8+). Restarting macbook & iphone doesn't help.
