yes, at my Ford Mondeo after updating to beta 3 it is not working

Yes! My CarPlay on my Pioneer head unit will not work over wireless, it will work wired. UGH!

Yes. 15.4 beta 3 has been a complete mess for me. Bluetooth connections are not working. I can't get CarPlay to work unless I reboot my phone - every single time I get in the car. Wired CarPlay is not working either. My Echo Auto will not connect either. I can't wait for the next update. I've never had such problems with a beta, even the initial builds.

Same here - Wireless CarPlay in BMW - latest iOS Beta 15.4 - can’t connect

Yes. Since iOS 15.0 (still with 15.4 Beta 4) wireless CarPlay crashes often. Most, when i start from home after 60-90 seconds. When i start from other locations (workplace, 25 km from home) wireless CarPlay runs better, but not perfect. I use wireless CarPlay with CPLAY2Air Adapter. Wired CarPlay runs perfect.

Same issue Wireless CarPlay in Mercedes - latest iOS Beta 15.4 - can’t connect. Is any solution upcoming? hope so

Same issue. Any fix in latest beta5?

  • Issue on beta3/4, and it’s fixed on beta5!

Tried in my side, and issue is fixed on beta5

Would not connect after updating this morning in my 2019 Honda — it would begin to play, and the button appeared, but said CarPlay could not activate, check usb connection. Did not change when unplugged. Rebooted car system three times, forgot and readded the car to CarPlay, no change.

Yes I have an Alpine ilx-705D - V2 Digital Media Station which happily connected to my iPhone 12 max pro until iOS 15.4 now it just won’t connect, I tried iOS 15.4.1 and no change, it tries to connect and Apple maps pops up on the phone during the process telling me how to get home then it fails to connect. I have tried resetting media station and the phone network settings, I made sure Siri was enabled and CarPlay allowed in screen time etc but still nothing it just won’t connect, I also tried my partners iPhone 12 mini on iOS 15.4 and same issue?

  • Same issue here with iOS 15.4.1 on an iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone X. We have a SEAT Ateca and CarPlay is only supported via USB cable, but no connection to CarPlay is possible. The cars screen shows trying to connect to the phone and the aborts. This is a bummer! Everything worked fine until the newest update!

  • Same issue with 15.4.1. Mine connects wirelessly to my Pioneer head unit, plays for a minute or 2 and then crashes. A couple of times, several minutes later, it reconnected but did not automatically restart the music. 12 pro max. Everything worked fine before.

I also have an Alpine ILX-705D and same issue - car play does not work wirelessly or when connect with USB Cable. Half the time the device doesn't even connect for simple settings. Perhaps it is a fault with the Alpine Firmware rather than Apple. I had a 702 previously and no issues connecting.

  • This is the response I got from Alpine.

Thank you for contacting us and sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties with your CarPlay connection. We are seeing reports of this across the UK and Europe, it seems something has changed with the wireless CarPlay connection from Friday 20/5/22 and unfortunately this prevents a successful connection both by wireless and cable with any unit that supports both wireless and wired CP.

Up until this point, wireless CarPlay was functioning fine with the iLX-705D, iLX-F905D & iLX-F115D. I'm hearing of various iPhone models that have stopped working, it's not related to the iPhone iOS version or the firmware version on your Alpine unit.

This is now the third time this has occurred this year, in the 2 previous instances the connection just started working after around 1 week with no action from Alpine software or Apple iOS update, it was resolved over the air by Apple, I expect the same to occur again this time around. Customers reported that it just started working again with nothing being done. It seems Apple have the ability to make CarPlay changes without us being aware.   In the background, the development team is investigating the cause so we can better understand if this happens again in the future.   So in short regretfully there is nothing that can be done now, we need to sit back and wait for Apple to resolve this. I will be checking my iPhone on a daily basis with one of our new wireless units.
