Angular 8 application is running on Ipad Safari. There is a screen in our application to download files from a server .
The file starts to download in a new tab and once download is complete download icon is highlighted to indicate the successful download but the new tab is not closed, instead it stays open with the url of my application page which is last used ( but with no data filled).
Some files are downloaded and opened directly in the new tab.
Is there a way to make the download happen consistently in single method or atleast close the tab which is opened for file download. in Chrome for all type of file a new tab is opened file is downloaded and the new tab is closed.
we use windows.open("url ") method in typescript to download a file.
OS version - 15.4.1
Note: we have tried to enable "Open New Tabs in Background" in the Safari settings. but no change in behavior.
Could you please provide us some support to resolve this behavior.
