i tried to call my girlfriend using siri and well theres a bug with that she keeps trying to do it but she always fail with every command i gave her, also while using airpods siri doesnt appear at all. im currently on iphone 13 pro

oh changing siri to US languange fixed for me. It was set for canada
The solution I found was to set Siri to US language. Mine was set to Canada.
Tried all this and nothing helped.

Hi! Same here. I enabled dictation but no way Siri AND dictating no longer work. I disabled and enabled both Siri & Dictation but no way. Siri gives error message and dictation in apps appear with mic disabled desolate it’s enabled. apple support told me to restore to default setting. not done. I wait for updates of iOS as this Must be a bug.

I think I found what is causing the bug switching between speaking in Spanish and English through the Spanish keyboard, and then switching back to English fixed it I did not have to change keyboards or dictation or Siri language
I just have no siri no matter if im holding the power button or saying hey siri she is nonexistent.
Same thing. I’m from Ukraine, but here we don’t have Siri on ukrainian language, unfortunately, I hope developers will add it soon, so we use it on russian, so and I have the same problem with russian Siri.

Same issue here on iphone 13 pro running iOS 16. Switching from US ENGLISH to UK ENGLISH keyboard restored dictation, and switching to UK ENGLISH for SIRI restored voice assistant functions.
Same issue. Neither Siri or Talk to Text work for me at all. I’ve tried everything mentioned in this thread.
Had to change Siri from English (United States) to English (another country). Any time I try to move the language back to the US Siri quits working again. Also, Siri will sometimes respond in a robotic style voice rather than the chosen language. This issue only came up after I updated to iOS 16. I’m running an iPhone XR.
Even though Siri now works, the voice to text punctuation is still messed up. When sending text messages, it will not recognize the end of a sentence with a period.
I am currently on 16.0.2 update with a 12Plus. After I updated Siri will not respond to my requests. She will say “on it” “still working on it” then “Something went wrong try again” for any simple request timers, texting music. It’s frustrating. I’ve reset my phone, I’m on the latest update and reset Siri and still nothing. How can I fix this issue?
Started after upgrading to IOS 16. Siri answers but always responds, One Sec, Still on it and Something went wrong.

I have the same problem going on now on ios 16.0.2 voice memo, calls works perfect but siri n direction cant seem to understand me n always shows a tiny icone with not microphone, siri keeps saying one sec n then sorry cant understand you
** UPDATE** I Followed the advice of someone who posted above, switch your Siri from English US to English UK, and then do the same thing with the keyboard and then switch them back and it should have it fixed!!**
I have the same issue. I have an iPhone 13pro max and just upgraded to iOS16.0.2 less than a week ago. I went through everything possible and apple told me I need to factory reset my phone… this bug is something that needs addressed by something more than a factory reset.
I noticed that I had to ask the question immediately after "Hi SIri", otherwise it considers I'm asking for my position.
"Hi Siri, what is the weather today ?" works perfectly.
"Hi Siri" alone is understood as "Hi Siri, where am I ?"
I’m currently on iOS 16.0.2 and I’m still having this issue. Plus my Picture-in-Picture has stopped working.
Same issue here. Siri just keeps saying one sec and theres a problem and then gives up.
I'm running iOS 16.0.2 on an iPhone 11.
As suggested above (in reverse) if I switch Siri Language from English (UK) to English (US) it works ok. Switching back to English (UK) it stops working again. Very frustrating as it won't work on CarPlay.
Anyone got any other suggestions?
