Apple Pay Wallet does not support 3DS flow right?

Hello forum, I am sure that apple pay does not have any special flow for extra customer authentication like 3D Secure.

I just want some confirmation. But as far as the apple pay docs , there is no mention of this.

Thanks and Regards, Chethan N

Apple Pay already meets Strong Customer Authentication requirements, and so you do not need to take any extra steps to authenticate your customers as you would with regular credit card payments.

Even Apple Pay itself meets SCA requirement, yet, I think merchants who want 3DS is for the liabilityshift, while for Apple Pay transaction, there seems to be no 3DS integration available, resulting upon transactions with Fraud Dispute/Chargeback, the merchants will suffer when they lost the cases.

As a merchant (and developer), it's a bit crazy that Apple Pay still doesn't support 3DS flows. Criminals are increasingly phones with stolen wallets.

The problem, as @ustarhk noted is that Apple Pay transactions are not eligible for liability shift. So, as a merchant, we have to classify Apple Pay transactions as higher-risk, which means declining them at a higher rate.
