DualBoot possibility for Silicon Chips

Hello, Is there any progress on being able to dualboot on macs using the new silicon chips? I am considering buying a new macbook pro but the possibility to add a linux distribution is crucial for me due to my work. I do not want to have to carry two computers around. Is there progress and an update when this may be possible with the new chips? Thank you!

If you’re interested in running Linux natively on Apple silicon, I recommend that you connect up with the folks who are doing that work.

Personally I prefer to keep my Mac booted into macOS and then run alternative operating systems in a VM. I’m still on Intel, so I don’t have any concrete experience with this, but there are numerous third-party VM products that let support Linux.
