Sign-Up Experience with Passkeys

The answer is that it's up to you! Passkeys are intended to completely replace passwords, but getting there is going to take time, so (for now) you should consider your particular use case and whether a password is also needed. If your users are all going to be on at least iOS 16 and macOS Ventura, going completely passwordless is a completely viable option. If you have more cross-platform users, it may not be convenient for them to use passkeys on every platform yet. There's nothing stopping a single account from accepting both a password and a passkey, especially during this transition period, or starting with one and having the option to add another later. Just keep in mind that a password will be a less secure option and you should evaluate your security policies accordingly 🙂.
