Not a developer, so have to ask:
I see a need to create an app or legal non-jailbreak modification of Ios 10... that would display a heads-up mirror image of whichever app is in use on an Iphione screen. I use a street navigation app and hud display which does this, but it is too limited in functionality. For instance, using any of the map apps in hud mode would likely increase driver safety if the display is closer to the driver's normal line of sight. What do you think?
I've recently eval'd HUD setups, and found some that work well, but only when the content is simple and clear. The less visual info to process via HUD, the better, I think. You don't look at it, you look thru it, relying on peripheral vision as opposed to detail rich content that works to exclude other input. If I want really simple, I rely on voice guidance and keep my eyes on the road/traffic.
If I want large amounts of detail I can process at will via a map, I go to a large bright screen built into the dash, etc. or see what's hiding on paper in the glove box 😉
