launchd and Xcode eating up resources after update

Xcode and launchd are eating up a considerable amount of resources. Even while beeing idle in the background.

This issue only exists when opening a certain project. The project itself is building just fine without any errors or warnings. Opening any other project does not show this behaviour. This wasn´t an issue yesterday after updating XCode to the latest version 14.2. But after resuming work today I discovered this behaviour.

I am on an Macbook Pro 2016 13 inch MacOS Ventura 12.6.3 XCode 14.2

I´ve tried the most obvious things like restarting Xcode and the MacBook. Downloading Xcode 14.1 just now, just in case I need to revert the install. But I would like to use 14.2 though.

Does someone know what to do in such a case? What could cause such a behaviour?

After going back to Xcode 14.1 the issue persisted.

So I decided to try another approach, cloned the repository again and created a new project from it.

This seems to have worked.

Leaving this here in case someone else encounters this issue.
