Could use help with Running GUI Linux in a virtual machine on a Mac

Hi,

I want my MacBook Pro M1 to run GUI Linux and I am trying to follow the procedure specified here:

OK, I am this far:

  1. Launch Xcode and open GUILinuxVirtualMachineSampleApp.xcodeproj.

Now, I have to admit. It would be nice for the procedure to be a lot more helpful. I have absolutely no idea how to open the above <whatever it is>.

Can someone provide the procedure for doing so?
