I updated to MacOS Sonoma Beta 3 on my 2021 MacBook Pro (M1 Max 24c GPU, 32gb Ram, 1tb SSD) after putting in my password, I was greeted with a black screen that I couldn't escape. The brightness, volume, and cursor were visible and interactable, but absolutely nothing else could be accessed.
So far I've tried:
- Disabling File Vault from recovery (Thanks Reddit)
- Reinstalling MacOS Sonoma from recovery.
- Tried all the old SMC resets and Safe-mode boots, but Apple changed the bootup hotkeys on these Apple Silicon Macs, so nothing works (:
I understand this is a beta, so I expected some instability, but bricking the whole machine isn't really what I had in mind.
I guess I need to make a bootable USB and to downgrade to Ventura or something? Pretty annoyed.
