How to do these actions using AppleScript:

  1. launching the TextEdit program
  2. setting TextEdit to be plain text (not formatted), UTF-8
  3. creating an empty file
  4. writing clipboard contents to a file
  5. saving the file to the desktop
  6. closing the file
