iMessages sync and backup using a managed ID

Hi, Im testing protecting iMessages using an managed ID with iOS 16.6. With a managed ID, it seems iMessages sycned to iClould is not available nor are iMessages backed up using the backup option on the device. When is this feature expected to be available?

  • iOS 17 beta 6 does have the option to enable Messages under icloud (Aps using iCloud). However when attemtping to reset, I get an error that states "Messages in iCloud not available as iCloud and iMessage accounts are different."
