Sonoma Beta <-> Zoom computer audio sharing is terrible

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start a meeting on Zoom
  2. Go to Share Screen -> Advanced -> Computer Audio. Click on Share.
  3. Go to Apple Music and start playing music

Expected: Music to play without issues.

Actual: Music is playing choppy and sounds terrible. I tried the Spotify app and it behaved the same.

I also tried to uninstall and re-install the Zoom app. I made sure I am running the most recent version of the Zoom app. But nothing seems to be working.

Tried with older Zoom versions, with no luck. I am pretty sure it used to work with Seed 2 and 3.

MacBook Pro 2023, M2 Max macOS 23A5337a Zoom Version: 5.15.12 (22445)

I filed FB13076386 via Feedback Assistant but haven't heard back.

Did anyone else encounter a similar issue with Sonoma and Zoom? Can you repro?

+1 - having the same issue in Share > Advanced > Computer Audio, regardless of Stereo or Mono; Speaker or Mic choice, or any other audio options available. I'm on an M1 2020 MBP - Sonoma + Zoom updated. When not sharing sound, audio sounds fine. Tried on Spotify (app and web), Youtube, & brain.fm

Same here. Audio breaks up, and sound quality is terrible (not usable) for both me and the participants. Happens when sharing computer sound with Zoom
