MacOS sonoma app connection issues [macOS 14.0 (23A344)]

So since ive updated to macos Sonoma [macOS 14.0 (23A344)] i have been facing an issue of apps not having a connection.

After a while of having my laptop on, it cuts off connection from certain random apps. One moment I am using my mac and suddenly webex doesnt have a connection after i boot up the app. I check if safari can still look things up and it seems the rest works fine, i can google, use apple music and all that.

I can restart the app i have the issue with all i want but it wont fix the connection for that app until i restart my mac. And ive faced this issue with multiple different apps, like webex, spotify, whatsapp and app store.

It does not matter if i am at work, at home, with wired or with wifi.

Ive even tried looking at activity monitor network pane to see what is going on. But it seems like these apps cant send or receive anything as their byte traffic stays at 0. The network diagnostics did not result into anything either.

To me it seems like a bug which i havent seen people post about yet. Or it could only be me, either way i wanted to make a thread to start the conversation might other people face the same.

Not recommended but 14.1 Beta (23B5046f) seemed to fix the issue for me.

Apple support advised me to see if booting safe mode results in the same issue. I will try this and report back.

I have the exact same issue! Microsoft teams, WhatsApp, Brave browser and a few other apps dont work but Safari does. I even installed the latest update on Sonoma and still no luck! Did you have any luck?

Updating didnt fix my issue (i cannot unclose this thread). I have traced back the issue to come forth from tunnelblick (a vpn client i have to use for work). Somehow it messes with my connection. Even when you close the app the issue persists.

For me closing the VPN after a day has proven successful. Sometimes i forget and then i just restart my mac. If you are not using tunnelblick maybe there is a program similar? Keep me posted, i would love to know too, as i am still annoyed by the issue.
