so ive been on all the macos sonoma betas up until the public 14.0 release and am now on public 14.1 and across all of those sonoma versions theres been this bug where the app's name in the menu bar is incorrect and displays the full name of some 3rd party apps such as chrome, vlc, outlook & obs where it says "google chrome" "vlc media player" "microsoft outlook" & "obs studio" instead of just "chrome" "vlc" "outlook" & "obs" like it's supposed to and does on all versions of ventura and earlier softwares. I've reported this 3 times in the feedback app while 14.0 was still in beta, ive reported it when 14.0 rolled out to the public on feedback.apple.com and last week i called apple support to report it but apple hasnt fixed it or given me any indication that they are working on it. im hoping that by making this post someone at apple will come across this and fix this bug for us sonoma users. i've included screenshots of all 3 apps where this bug happens. i know this is a bug and not an intended change with sonoma because the app name in the menu bar starts out the correct name for a split second (i.e. "chrome" before changing itself to the full app name (i.e. "google chrome") when you launch it. to show this i've included a youtube video link of this happening with chrome. its hard to see but if you watch closely you'll see the part where it starts out as "chrome" and quickly glitches to "google chrome". thank you very much if you have read my wall of text here and i hope this will get fixed! thank you again, and have a great day/night!
