Hi, I'm currently developing an IOS app that need to connect to an IOT device while communicating with our server. The device creates its own Wi-Fi access point. When I connect my app to the device over Wi-Fi, I don't have access to internet connection until the OS display a pop up saying that the Wi-Fi doesn't seem to be connected to the internet and ask if we want to use mobile data or keep trying.
I saw multiple post about that and no one seem to have the answer or always said there is no API to do this.
The problem is that live stream camera application like GoPro or insta360 is capable of connecting to the device Wi-Fi and immediately use the mobile data (you see the 5G appear in the top) while being connected to the device Wi-Fi. So clearly is there a way to do it.
I try to put my device into a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi group owner but I have the same result as a standard access point. (Communication with the device is done over a tcp socket .)
Does anyone know how they manage to do it, or where I can look at to find a solution?
Thank you !
