Anyone having trouble upgrading to Xcode 8.3?

My AppStore keeps on spinning when I ckick on XCode->Update!!!

I have upgraded iOS to 10.3 and now xCode 8.2.1 doesn't work with it anymore. I am stuck!

Does anyone know what the issue could be? Or is it possible to download XCode outside of App Store App?

I managed ok yesterday - might be a heavy load today.

As an alternative to the MAS, try here: https://developer.apple.com/download/more/

Yeah, I am in the same boat on El Capitan. Endless spinner and nothing seems to happen (neither in console). I also tried to download directly from the apple developer portal only to find out that the Xcode 8.3 button linked back to the MacApp Store 😕 Thanks to @KMT for the proper direct download links! I am now finally able to download 🙂

Me too. Consider yourself lucky if you can even Restart your system. See https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/75074

I have also had this problem, but downloaded from the alternative site suggested by KMT and, fingers crossed, everything seems to be OK, although I cannot run i8.3 with el cap, but did not have scenarios problems, fortunately. The reason I was interested in the new version was to get SDK for iOS 10.3, which Apple wants my phone to update to. Having had the problem previously with missing SDK's I was wary of updating without first getting the correct files, so downloaded 8.3 and now have SDK for 10.3. However, when you say that 8.2.1 doesn't work with it anymore are you getting the missing SDK problem, or is there something else Apple have lined up for me. I have not updated my phone yet so would like to be prepared if there is some new frustrations in store, so far I have just copied and pasted missing files and use an earlier Xcode - 7.3?.

But were you able to run Xcode 8.3.1 on El Capitan? Release notes say it requires Mac OS 10.12:

My main system is working fine on OS 10.11 and I'd like to keep it there to avoid the problems I've seen on my backup system running 10.12. I'll find out myself if that's possible in an hour and a half when the installer is done donwloading.

I have a 300mbps connection and its been updating for 24hrs with no indication that its even making progress. Just a spinning wheel. When I try to access the "downloads" page on the xcode website (https://developer.apple.com/download/more/), it says "well be back soon" and does not provide download links. All I want to do is sign my app, that shouldn't even require a 5GB download in the first place. When I try to file a bug report it says my Apple ID does not exist, yet the same credentials let me log in to the forums.

People say mac is supposed to be so much better, I'm starting to wonder if those people have mental issues. I constantly worry all my apple hardware will one day become bricked because of their incompetence in the software department, coupled with their incessant need for vendor lock in. Other vendors like PHP or nodeJS have 100s of mirrors for their downloads, and the source code can be compiled as well. Apple put all of their eggs into one basket and now they're dropping the basket. I can't even do my job because they failed to do theirs. Now I have to explain to my boss why deadlines aren't being met. If anyone is considering becoming an Apple developer my advice would be change careers now before its too late.

I was able to access the downloads page, I guess they got it back online. I downloaded xcode 8.3.1.xip and when I run it says "undefined cpio error code 0". I found that if I delete xcode from Applications, then go back into the app store & attempt a new install, it does show progress under the "Purchases" section. However after installing I see that it installed xcode 7, not xcode 8. So I can't run the app on my iphone 6. I guess Apple's suggested solution is to throw out all my hardware & go buy all new stuff. Apparently the laptop I bought within the last 1-2 years no longer will run the latest OS, so it cannot run xcode 8. Only xcode 7. At least that's what I got based off googling the cryptic "cpio error code 0" message. So my only option is find an older iPhone or buy a newer computer? That's nuts.

I am an apple fan since the first mac... but this sh^t really *****: I have a barely old macbook pro (mid 2009) which for not reason at all can't be upgraded to sierra. My iphone is allready on 10.3.1 and now I can't test anything on my iphone.
Hate you apple !!!

Now looking for a (patched) upgrade to sierra, apperantly sierra works without any issues on my macbook pro.

*** YOU APPLE FOR FORCING ME TO DO THIS
