APNs for cPanel

Hi guys,

Any ideia how can i make push notifications works on a WHM (cPanel) for mail accounts? On Apple Mail, push only works every 15 minutes, and if sent an email takes this time to shows up on iphone/iPad

Thanks

Push is controlled by the source, so any solution to this will have to come from your mail provider.

That said, the "every 15 minutes" behavior sounds like the mail account may have been set to "Fetch".

You would want to check Settings -> Mail -> Accounts -> Fetch New Data, and make sure "Push" is enabled, but also the mail account in question is set to "Push".

If there is no "Push" option for the said account, you will need to resolve this with your provider to see if they support mail push, and if they do, how to change their schedule.

Hi @DTS Engineer,

Thank you for your reply. I'm currently using cPanel, to manage our MailServer accounts, and according with the documentation they have, the "push" functions working before 2020 supported by MacOSX server, wich is not anymore...

"Warning: We no longer support iOS Mail push notifications due to the following changes by Apple®:

As of November 2020, Apple no longer supports the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) legacy API for sending push notifications. As of April 21, 2022, Apple has discontinued macOS Server. Because of these changes, the instructions on this page may not work."

Any tips on that?

Thank you,

Unfortunately there are no tips. If your mail/push provider service only wants to support the legacy APNs API, and is not supporting the updated HTTP/2 based API, they will not be able to send any push notifications or offer a push notification based service until they do.
