Remove old articles from RSS

We've set up our news channel, switched from RSS to Apple News Format and published our first Apple News Format article.

At the moment our channel still shows all of our old articles from the RSS feed. I'd like to remove these so that the only posts available are in the Apple News Format.

Will this happen automatically or is there something that needs to be done?

If anyone is looking for an answer to this the support team were able to help me clear the RSS feed as a one time solution.

After upgrading from RSS to Apple News Format and publishing your first Apple News Format article, Apple News will stop fetching new RSS content from your provided RSS feeds. Previously fetched RSS articles will remain in your channel's sections.

If you wish to remove your RSS articles from your channel, it is advised to add a new section in News Publisher for Apple News Format content and remove the sections that contain RSS content.

Thank you. Our RSS posts are in the Main (Default) section. I can't find a way to remove the default section, is there something I'm missing?
