Face recognition API

I am developing an app based on AR and real-time face recognition. I saw that the Apple Photos app catalogues faces found in the photos, and this makes me think Apple has already a way to detect a face in a photo.

My question is if there is a way to get access to the API, or derive it in any way, since it seems they are not publicly available during development?

Thank you very much!

Private APIs are just that....private to Apple. We're discouraged from discussing them here, otherwise.

When Apple has gotten all they can out of an API for their own use and/or there is enough demand, there is a chance it may become public.

In the mean time, devs are free to make requests for things they'd like access to going forward, via the bug reporter, lower right every page here.

Good luck.
