Developer Capture and microphone input for audio-based apps

Hi Apple engineers,

I'm currently working on an app that uses the incoming microphone audio and gives visual feedback to the user about the incoming audio.

I would like to use Reality Composer Pro's Developer Capture to get a high quality recording of the app and its use cases for the App Store — but any time I have an in-progress capture, my app stops receiving the incoming audio. It almost seems as if the microphone audio is getting 'hijacked' during the screen capture, which prevents me from demonstrating the app's core features.

Could you please advise on how to proceed?

I see that this isn't an issue with other apps (like Voice Memos), so I'm wondering if I'm missing something, or if I'm holding the API wrong? I already have the entitlement for Privacy - Microphone Usage Description in my Info.plist file. App works perfectly when not in Developer Capture.

Hello @prayasht:

I'm not aware of any privacy considerations that impact usage of Developer Capture. Out of curiosity, do you observe the same behavior when recording your view from Control Center?

If this issue persists, please consider filing a bug report using Feedback Assistant. Bug Reporting: How and Why? has tips on creating your bug report.

Once you open the bug report, please post the FB number here for reference.

Thanks, Steve
