Xcode 26.1 ChatGPT very slow

ChatGPT in Xcode 26.1 is super slow for me. What used to complete in a batter f seconds is now taking tens of minutes.

Context: M2 Pro MBP, Xcode 26.1, macOS 26.1. CPU stays under 50% while ChatGPT returns. Using the minimal setting. Tried restarting, have verified I have nothing running Electron, no other apps are running.

ChatGPT returns fast for the displayed content but the preview window where it renders code per line takes a few seconds per line.

Thank you for reporting this! We've identified that some users interacting with ChatGPT might experience performance issues when the assistant is applying code changes. A temporary workaround is to switch to another navigator (like the Project Navigator), while a response is being generated in the coding assistant.

Same here, on a long file it can go for 30-40 mins and then eventually Xcode crashes.

Same issue here. Just can't figure out how to fix this. New per line scrolling UI is the sign it's being slow for me.

I have the same problem. Tried cleaning the project, closing and reopening Xcode but the problem stays the same as stated above.

Yeah same here. The problem already existed in the 26.1 RC version but not in 26.0.1. It's now unusable.

Exactly the same problem here. It has become completely unusable unless you are OK with making a change and then taking an hour off.

Same here. Going back to XCODE version from Monday - that one worked much better. It almost seems like no one tests this stuff prior to release. But then, I didn’t try the BETAs myself. :(

Yes. Calling this unusable would be an understatement. It's actually comically slow.

Terrible. Did they test this?! Have reverted back to 26.0.1... not perfect, but at least it's vaguely functional.

Can't believe I'm seeing this issue in Xcode 26.1. Things were fine in 26.0.1. I'm now either waiting for 10 - 20 minutes, or copy-paste code into ChatGPT application.

Has anyone been having this problem using any other LLM? I was assuming it was a global Coding Intelligence issue and not actually ChatGPT specific but you never know…
