Cannot add a home to the Home app

Hello,

I removed a home from the home app and restarted it. Now, when I run the app, it takes me straight to the "Welcome Home" - "Get Started" screen. When I tap on "Get Started", a dialog pops up telling me:

Could not add home "My Home"

A home with a similar names already exists. Try entering a different name.

OK

Pressing OK takes me back to the "Welcome Home" screen, so I have no ability to do anything, let alone enter a different name, or do anything other than open the popup and close it..

I assume the only way to fix this would be to remove the underlying data, but I don't know how to access it.

Can somebody help me, please?

Karl

My suggestion would be to install any other application that uses HomeKit, and try to access / remove the faulty home there. As far as I know, you can only delete HomeKit data if you go into the HomeKit app and delete every home until there is none left. But I might be wrong. I still suggest trying the first option though, perhaps you're lucky.
