Our app seems to be stuck in review limbo — anyone seen this before?

Hi all,

At this point I'm pretty sure our app has fallen into some kind of review limbo, and I'm hoping someone here has seen this pattern before or can point me somewhere useful.

Here's the full timeline:

  • May 15: First submission of pipp money. Came back rejected.
  • Shortly after: We addressed the feedback and resubmitted the updated build.
  • The resubmission then sat in the queue for an unusually long time with no movement, so I started to suspect something might have gone wrong on the submission side. I cancelled the build myself, made a small update, and resubmitted again, hoping that would unstick it.
  • Since then: Still no movement. The app has just been sitting in the review queue.
  • In parallel: I've sent multiple support requests by email about the situation. Not a single one has received a response.
  • I also posted on this forum earlier, and someone from App Review replied saying the case would be investigated. That was a while ago and I haven't heard anything since, and there's still no progress on the submission.

We haven't been able to push a new version to our users since May 11, which is starting to seriously affect us.

Given that the build has been in the queue this long, support emails are going unanswered, and even the forum escalation that was supposed to trigger an investigation has gone quiet, I have to assume the submission is stuck in some kind of broken state rather than just slow review.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a channel that actually gets a response in cases like this? Any pointers would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks.

Definitely not just you. Many recent posts in this forum about unusual delays.

Thank you for your post. We're investigating and will contact you in App Store Connect to provide further assistance. If you continue to experience issues during review, please contact us.

@App Review I want to emphasize that this appears to be the same escalation path we were given previously: App Review said the case would be investigated, but after that there was no follow-up in App Store Connect, no email response, and no movement on the submission. Could you please make sure this investigation is actually opened and followed through this time? If possible, please provide an update through App Store Connect with a concrete status or next step, so we know the case is being actively handled rather than simply waiting in the queue indefinitely. Thank you.

Adding an update here after calling Apple Support. I contacted Apple by phone today, hoping to get some clarity on why the app and IAP review appear to be stuck. The support representative told me that the IAP review is handled by a different team, that they do not have visibility into it, and that they are unable to take any action.

This is extremely frustrating. If phone support cannot see the case, cannot contact the relevant review team, and cannot provide a concrete next step, then what is the correct support channel for developers in this situation?

At this point, we have:

  • an app submission sitting with no movement,
  • IAP review apparently handled by a separate team,
  • email support requests with no response,
  • a previous forum escalation that said the case would be investigated, but no follow-up,
  • and phone support saying they cannot help.

We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for a real status update and a working escalation path. Our app has been unable to ship updates to users since May 11, and this is now causing real operational impact.

Could someone from App Review or the IAP review team please check the actual state of this submission and contact us in App Store Connect with a concrete update or next step?
