Hey guys
I have reports from a few users of background audio not working on one of my an apps. The strange thing is I cannot replicate this issue at all. I have had reports of other users using the feature with no problem.
I've sent one of these users a build with background audio enabled indefinitely (there is usually a toggle), yet still the audio cuts out when the app gets backgrounded. Also, I sent this user a testflight build of another audio app I have made recently and background audio worked without any issues. So, I rewrote the offending app so that it used the exact same audio / background handling code as the app that worked. Not even this fixed the problem.
One thing that is really confusing me is that this user has tried the app out on both an iPad Air 2 and an iPhone 6s and they both have the same issue. This means it isn't device specific. How can this be?
My question is, is there anything anyone can think of that would cause background audio capabilities to cease working for an app, even if all the relevant steps have been taken to enable it? Has anyone else had this problem?
All reported cases are from users running iOS 10
Cheers
