iOS 26.5.1 Wi-Fi cannot be turned off

When the device leaves the range of a known Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar does not disappear, and the device fails to switch to LTE/5G, resulting in a loss of internet connectivity. Turning off Wi-Fi via Settings or Control Center does not resolve the issue either. Only restarting the device fixes the problem. Network settings and general settings have already been reset. The issue occurs on an iPhone 15 Pro and an iPhone 17 Pro. Is there a solution? Apple Support has suggested the troubleshooting steps mentioned above as well as an exchange of the iPhone 17 Pro.

We appreciate your interest in participating in the forums! These forums are for questions about developing software and accessories for Apple platforms. Your question seems related to a consumer feature and is better suited for Apple Support as you posted. I would recommend to contact them again and get the device checked by them.

Thanks
