Hello,
I published my first mobile indie game on IOS 12 years ago.
It was downloaded and enjoyed by millions of people and I felt a hard to describe sense of pride from it, even if the game wasn't perfect.
After many years working in many well known games from AAA studios, I wanted to publish a mobile game once more. This time as a solo developer.
After investing a lot of time, effort and money I finally found myself and the game in a healthy position to publish the game.
I organized a humble marketing campaign for the launch on IOS & Android. I sent the game for review, and it got approved.
I set a launch date. And then, I discovered a bug that would impact the game at launch. There were 10 days left or so, so I decided to fix it and send it again.
It's been two months now. The game is still waiting for review.
The game has been released on Android, with no marketing campaign (Don't want to waste my only bullet with 50% of my potential clients not being able to play the game...) and is growing organically by the day with 4.7 star reviews. It seem to generate some revenue, retention and great reviews.
I already got a job for another big AAA game and have moved on from the whole thing.
I don't really know what to say to be honest. I understand its a challenge to review the apps when you have integrated AI in xcode...
I opened 2 tickets, and requested an expedited review. No result. After a couple weeks I got: "Just keep waiting".
You guys have no phone, no email, no customer support...
All my bussiness agreements are signed. Everything has been done on my side to comply to your terms.
No communication from Apple whatsoever. Just "wait some more..."
For what I know you may reject it because you don't like the background color of the main menu... And by the time it gets approved I may be dead, or even worse:
IOS 33 may be already out with transparent lava UI and my game will not comply anymore so I will need to buy a new mac pro and setup my pipeline for the 5th time to be able to compile a game that will be obsolete by then... xD
I invite other developers in similar situations to share their experiences in this thread.
In any case, I hope everybody has a great day!
