Will my 2017 5K iMac handle the HTC Vive ? I have the maxed out 27" model with the 580 and 64GB of ram. I notice on the Apple page when buying my iMac it said something about VR ready and I heard High Sierra would support HTC.

My next question is if it will work what all will I need to buy consdering the new iMac has thunderbolt 3/ USB C. Also would the Vive work now through bootcamp until High Sierra comes out.

Interesting question. What I have read so far in the 580 specs, it fullfills the absolut minimum to do VR with HTC Vive.

I wait for the iMac Pro with the Vega RX Pro 64 which specs are similar to the nVidia GTX 1080, but still massive under the GTX 1080 ti.

I now have a Windows machine with Windows 10 and a 980 ti which does well with the HTC Vive. The 580-s performance is under the over 1 year old 980 ti.
