Apple Developer Account Pending Termination Within 2 Hours of First App Submission – Need Guidance

Title: Apple Developer Account Pending Termination Within 2 Hours of First App Submission – Need Guidance

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for guidance regarding a Pending Termination Notice I received for my Apple Developer Program membership.

My account enrollment was completed successfully. After getting access to the Developer Program, I prepared and submitted my first app/build for review.

Approximately 2 hours after submitting the first build, I received a Pending Termination Notice from Apple.

Apple stated that my membership had allegedly been used for “dishonest or fraudulent activity” and specifically said:

“You provided fraudulent and/or false account information, documentation, or otherwise falsely represented yourself or your submitted app to Apple either during the account enrollment process or after the account was created.”

The notice references Section 3.2(f) of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement and App Review Guideline 5.6.2 – Developer Identity.

What I don't understand

My Developer Program enrollment had already been successfully completed, and as far as I know, all of the information I provided was legitimate.

I did not notice any problem with the account before submitting the app.

The sequence was basically:

  1. Apple Developer Program enrollment completed successfully.
  2. Account became active.
  3. I submitted my first app/build.
  4. Approximately 2 hours later, I received the Pending Termination Notice.
  5. My account is currently still in Pending Termination status.

I have already submitted an appeal to the App Review Board.

My main concern is that the notice doesn't tell me exactly what Apple believes was fraudulent or false. I don't know whether the issue relates to my enrollment information, developer identity, app information, app ownership, metadata, the submitted build, or something else.

I want to resolve this through Apple's official process and provide whatever legitimate verification or clarification is required.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I would really appreciate advice from developers who have dealt with a similar Guideline 5.6.2 / Developer Identity termination, especially one that happened shortly after submitting their first app.

In particular:

  • Did Apple eventually explain exactly what triggered the termination?
  • Could the first app submission trigger an additional developer/account verification check even after enrollment was successfully completed?
  • Is there a way to ask Apple to identify the specific information or documentation they believe is false or fraudulent?
  • What information or documents helped during your appeal?
  • If the account is terminated despite the appeal, is there an official way to request reconsideration and regain access to the original account?
  • Has anyone successfully had a Pending Termination under Guideline 5.6.2 reversed?

I am not looking to create another developer account or bypass Apple's decision. I specifically want to understand the issue, correct or clarify anything Apple believes is inaccurate, and hopefully restore/retain access to my existing Developer Program membership.

Any guidance or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
