My app is using RemoteMediaSessionExtension to control speakers over the local network via the new Now Playing framework.
Starting with Beta 6, local network calls from the extension fail with 'Path was denied by NECP policy' error.
Is it a bug or an intentional change in the latest beta?
Sorry this took so long; I got the answer a while back but I was OOO last week and so I’ve only now found time to reply.
Unfortunately I don’t come bearing good news. The behaviour you’re seeing in 27.0b6 and later is intended. Remote media extensions are expected to interact with servers on the wider Internet, not with local peers. Sadly, there were technical limitations that prevented us from applying that contraint in earlier beta seeds, which is why things worked on earlier seeds.
