Finally someone asking;
1st Submission on June 8th
Rejection 1: June 11th - A subtle yet valid UX issue, fixed that day itself and resubmitted.
Rejection 2: June 12th - 1st Guidelines 4.3(b) rejection.
The app is nuanced, so there were 2 accounts attached in the reviewer note with concisely explained details so they understand the nuance while reviewing the app as a whole.
The reviewer only logged into one account and rejected.
I resubmitted the same day clarifying this and that they needed to login to the other account to fully understand.
Rejection 3: June 24th - Guidelines 4.3(b) rejection again.
The reviewer only logged into one account again and rejected it.
At this point I heard about App Review Board and I thought that might be the way to do this because I clearly explained why previously but the reviewer still rejected.
So I made a App Review Board appeal.
3 weeks passes by no response, that's when I made my initial forum post asking how long does this process take.
At the same time, I booked a 1 on 1 session with Meet with Apple consultation.
I explained the situation, he understood the nuance and I asked if it'd be clearer if "I make a 3rd account and use it as primary to show the initial state and then attach the other 2 accounts to show the 2 other state + update the note" so that the nuance is understood and he said yes, and so that's what I did.
Resubmitted on July 21st.
Rejection 4: August 6th - Guidelines 4.3(b) was cleared but 2 new issues were stated.
Issue 1 was a simple clarification question.
Issue 2 was a Apple's sandbox-side network error which had nothing todo with the app, just happening at an unfortunate time.
Replied back within the hour with the clarification.
No response for 12 days which now had me worried that I needed to "resubmit" the app to even trigger a review and not just a reply in the resolution center chat.
Because there is no UI indication on what's going on, the only way I know a review will happen is when I resubmit and it shows "Waiting for Review".
So I resubmitted on 18th August.
Its August 28th now and it's still sitting on "Waiting for Review".
It'll be almost 3 months soon.
Like I said, I will not bash apple but I hold the right to form my own opinion from the experience I've gone thru.
