I'm trying to enroll in the Apple Developer Program (Individual) for the first time, but I'm completely stuck at the identity verification step.
The Apple Developer app / Developer Support tells me my identity was "already verified using a different Apple Account." However, I have only ever had ONE Apple ID (used continuously since my iPhone 5s, through my iPhone 7, and now my iPhone 13 and Mac — same email the entire time). I have never created, accessed, or verified identity on any other Apple Account.
I contacted Developer Support (case 20000143970410). Two advisors, including a Senior Advisor, confirmed the block but said there is no manual override available, no team that can view or share info about the other account, and no way to resolve this on their end. They have since closed my case.
Given that I've never had another Apple ID, this seems to be either:
- A system error incorrectly matching my identity to someone else's account, or
- Someone else using my personal identity documents to verify a different Apple Account without my knowledge.
Has anyone experienced this exact situation and found a resolution? Could a moderator please take a look at case 20000143970410?
